Map Your Cognitive Style

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator identifies how you perceive the world and make decisions across four dimensions: energy direction, information processing, decision-making, and lifestyle orientation.

The Four Dimensions

How MBTI Works

Your type is determined by your natural preference on each of four continuums. You use all eight preferences, but favor one side of each pair.

Energy: E vs I

Extraversion draws energy from the outer world of people and activity. Introversion draws energy from the inner world of thoughts and reflection.

👁️

Perception: S vs N

Sensing focuses on concrete facts and present reality. Intuition focuses on patterns, possibilities, and the big picture.

⚖️

Judging: T vs F

Thinking makes decisions through logical analysis and consistency. Feeling makes decisions based on values and how actions affect people.

📋

Lifestyle: J vs P

Judging prefers structure, planning, and closure. Perceiving prefers flexibility, spontaneity, and keeping options open.

MBTI + Five Other Systems

On its own, MBTI tells you how you think. But it doesn't tell you why (that's the Enneagram), what mythic forces drive you (that's archetypes), or how you bond (that's attachment theory). Mazarion is the only platform that synthesizes all six systems into a unified personality portrait.

Two people who receive the same MBTI code can still describe themselves very differently. Placing several frameworks side by side may add context while preserving that complexity.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked

What does MBTI stand for?

MBTI stands for Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. It was developed by Isabel Briggs Myers and Katharine Cook Briggs based on Carl Jung's theory of psychological types.

What are the 16 personality types?

The 16 types are formed by combining four preference pairs: Extraversion/Introversion, Sensing/Intuition, Thinking/Feeling, and Judging/Perceiving — creating types like INFJ, ENFP, INTJ, ESTP, and 12 others.

Is the MBTI scientifically valid?

Scientific support is mixed, and results can change when people retake the assessment. Mazarion uses MBTI-style preferences as one reflection lens among six, not as a diagnostic, hiring, or compatibility decision tool.

Can my MBTI type change?

Your core cognitive preferences tend to remain stable, but your expression of them matures over time. Stress can also cause you to behave more like your 'shadow' functions.
